UEMS-EACCME® has just launched its Accredited Provider status, a new pathway for eligible CME/CPD providers that demonstrate their ability to deliver high-quality, independent education consistently.
Quality in continuing medical education depends on the organisations delivering it as well as the activities themselves.
From 1 January 2027, approved Accredited
Providers will be able to allocate European CME Credits (ECMEC®) to their
eligible educational activities, in accordance with UEMS-EACCME® criteria and
credit allocation rules.
Providers will remain subject to UEMS-EACCME®
requirements and ongoing quality assurance.
For UEMS, this pathway supports trust in continuing medical education across Europe while offering proven providers a more streamlined way to accredit their activities. It will operate alongside the existing event-based accreditation system, allowing providers to choose the pathway that best suits their work.
Applications for the first accreditation period are open until 31 October 2026.
